Chocolate for the environment

In addition to our existing commitments and EMAS certification, we are taking a major step forward in environmental protection: we are donating chocolate for the climate and planting 300 trees in Mexico.

For four years now we have been supporting the international environmental initiative Plant-for-the-Planet (PftP) with information events on climate change and climate protection, as well as with annual tree planting events. Now we are launching a new campaign: in cooperation with PftP we are distributing 1,500 bars of chocolate. These will be donated to social institutions and children’s homes in Erfurt and the surrounding area: for example the Central Germany Children’s Hospice. For every five bars of chocolate a tree will be planted with the support of PftP. As a result 300 new trees will soon be blossoming for the climate on the Yucatán peninsula (Mexico).

The campaign was created in the course of this year’s QUNDIS-Roadshow. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the annual company update for customers and partners took place exclusively digitally. On this occasion we promised to plant a tree for each participant and to give away five bars of PftP chocolate for a good cause. Thank you for the great interest in the digital roadshow! With the help of our customers and partners, in recent years more than 13,000 trees have been planted worldwide in aid of climate protection.

Current information on how QUNDIS GmbH deals with the spread of the Coronavirus

Due to the increasing spread of the Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), we have responded in our responsibility as a manufacturer, service provider and employer with a comprehensive package of measures to contain the further spread of the virus and to guarantee the health of our customers and our employees in the best possible way.

In line with the recommendations of the German government and the experts of the Robert Koch Institute, this includes, among other things, regularly informing our employees about necessary rules of conduct and hygiene measures, making disinfectants available nationwide and avoiding business trips, face-to-face meetings and personal encounters. In addition, we are focusing on a comprehensive expansion of our home office activities. In addition to reducing the risk of infection, we are thus creating the possibility for our employees affected by the closure of schools and kindergartens to look after their children at home.

Despite the current challenges, we are making every effort to provide our customers with our products and services in the usual quality and with the least possible restrictions and delays. Currently we are producing in a separate 3-shift system with increased safety precautions for our employees. The advanced digitalization of our infrastructure and business procedures allows us to automate many processes.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that we have cancelled all technical seminars until further notice. As soon as the situation allows it again, we will communicate new dates.

In the meantime, we are already working on a possible concept for offering webinars especially for the technical seminars. The use of news/video/presentation apps (e.g. TeamViewer or Microsoft Teams) is also already being tested and practiced. We will keep you updated about further steps.

Even if not personally at your site, your sales representative and technical support are there for you.

Stay healthy!

QUNDIS Roadshow 2019: EED as the most important Topic

This year’s QUNDIS Roadshow kicked off at the beginning of May. A record high of almost 100 customers and partners marked start of the roadshow at the Steigerwald Stadium in Erfurt on 7 May. The QUNDIS team presented upcoming product innovations and the most important company updates. The top-class guest speakers Dr.-Ing. Ingrid Vogler from the Association of German Housing and Real Estate Companies and IBM cloud expert Thomas Schrenk completed the roadshow kick-off: Their presentations focused on the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and how it will affect metering services in the future – as well as the question of how cloud-based consumption recording is compatible with data protection and data security. In the following podium talk, speakers and roadshow guests discussed different perspectives on the EED and its practical implementation.

After the kick-off event in Erfurt, the roadshow team made stops in Ingolstadt, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Dresden. There also was an intensive exchange of ideas on industry issues and QUNDIS products with a further 120 participants. We would like to thank all participants for the honest feedback and discussions and look forward to seeing you again next year or already at the “HeiKo” trade fair in Kassel (Germany) on September, 30 and October, 1.

Exhibition in Spain: QUNDIS pushes internationalization

At the CLIMATIZACIÓN Y REFRIGEERACIÓN exhibition in Madrid, QUNDIS GmbH presents its intelligent measuring devices and systems for the collection of heat and water consumption. The measuring expert will also show its latest product updates for remote meter reading, which will become mandatory throughout Europe in the near future due to the EED amendment.

The recently adopted EED reform with far-reaching changes from 2020 for consumption metering in all new buildings challenges architects, engineers, owners, administrators and installers: As visitors of the CLIMATIZACIÓN Y REFRIGEERACIÓN international energy exhibition, they can obtain comprehensive information on the subject from 26 February to 1 March 2019. The new Head of Sales at QUNDIS GmbH, Rafael del Granado, will bring the Q water water meter, the Q caloric heat cost allocator and all other system components to present at the trade fair. They already comply with tomorrow’s EED requirements today. The devices can be remotely read 365 days a year. Access to the apartment is no longer necessary. Administration and control function cloud-based via the web application QUNDIS Smart Metering Platform.

QUNDIS also has a good reputation with Managing Director Volker Eck as the newly elected member of the OMS Group Management Board and as an open system supplier of intelligent measuring devices and systems. The products, labeled with “Made in Germany”, are based on the M-Bus standard and are compatible with the OMS standard as well as with the “KNX” international communication standard for building technology.
